Vidhuthalai Chiruthaigal Kachi (VCK) ,a political party that claims to work for the interest of Dalits, kick started another controversy. On November 6, its founder and rabid Hindu hater Thol Thirumavalavan launched a campaign to distribute booklets on the Manu Smrithi in Tamil to create awareness of its views on all non -Brahmins and women.
VCK, which has no ever contested polls on its own and wins polls by doing piggy back on some Dravidian parties like DMK, AIADMK , is known for harsh remarks on Hindus, their gods and culture. Thiumavalavan, it is alleged is under the care of Abrahamic forces, makes scathing innuendos against Hinduism only to win his masters who pays him and minority appeasement. If we go by his television interviews, we couldsee hishalf-baked knowledge on GST, Manusmirthi and others.
Speaking on a book launching function Thirumavalavan spoke, quoting from Viviliam, Thirukkural Saiva Siddhantam Oppaivu -(in Tamil) Comparative Study of the Bible, Thirukkural and Saiva Siddhanta) authored by M Deivanayagam’s book. He said he has been researching for several decades, and he concluded that “Thiruvalluvar was a Christian and was baptized, received communion”……
The VCK leader said, “Women of their (the other community) caste show their worth. ‘Even if you have everything there is no use in you (men of the same caste). Even if they (men of scheduled castes) are poor they have substance and posture (decent words for virility and manliness) which is why they go behind them…
VCK leader had questioned the birth of Swami Ayyappa. “babies are born when a man and woman have intercourse..this is what science says and this is rational…but Sanatana Dharma says Ayyappa was born to two men. He was born when Maha Vishnu and Maha Sivan had intercourse..yes that’s what Sanatana dharma says”. The same logic can be applied for other religions which has such things.
Thirumavalavan said “if the building has a dome, it is a mosque; if it is tall and straight, it is a church; and if it has dirty idols/dolls, it is a temple”.
In a webinar organized by Periyarist outfits, Thirumavalavan said in a video that went viral,“how are women are v valued in Sanatana Dharma, how they are treated, for time immemorial how they have been oppressed and exploited…what does Sanatana Dharma say about women? Basically, women are created as prostitutes by God. All women are prostitutes as per Hindu Dharma…Manu Dharma… All women are prostitutes..that’s how they were created by God..they’re of a status lower than men. It applies to Brahmin women as well as to other women”.
He filed cases after cases to stall RSS taking out its annual Vijayadasmi route march at the behest of DMK, but only to be snubbed by the court. The RSS deferred the patha sanchalan in all 50 odd pl laces in view of impracticable restrictions put forth by the High Court. The rallies in Cuddalore ,Perambalur and Kallakuruchi were peaceful.
Now the rabid hindu phobic,who is believed to have converted Christianity, on November 6 distributed free copies of 32 pages booklet, containing Tamil version of verses from the manuscript compiled by Gauthama Sanna, to public at the Koyembedu bus terminus and in other places of the Tamil Nadu. Later addressing media, Thol Thirumavalavan said “Manusmrithi underpinned the fundamentals of the social fabric of Hindu society. The Hindu society continues to operate on the basis of the manusmrithi. Despite Constitution came into effect in 1950, the manusmirti’s total influence can be seen in social and cultural aspects of the society”. Making a scathing attack on RSS ,he said if people knew what was in the book, the RSS would disappear because it will be shunned by the people. At the Madurai Airport he said “ RSS is not a regular public or cultural outfit. It is an organization that spreads hatred against muslims and Christians. it tries to present itself as a public centric organisatkion which is not true. It is behind the Babri masjid demolition ( he forges hundreds of temples were razed to grounds by Muslims in retaliation),Gujarat riots (also forgot that Muslims torched RSS cadres after closing all exits the coach), RSS keeps spreading hate and divisive politics in many form.
Allowing his free book distribution and denying permission to Hindu Munnani and Indu Makkal Katchi to distribute booklets containing other side of Thirumavalan. It is to counter VCK’s one lakh free book let distribution. Police arrested them in palayamkottai when we they were about to distribute copies of Tamil Magazine that carried a cover story on Thirumavalavan’s darker nasty side.
Advocate Ramaswamy,in his complaint for his inflammatory speech at the airport. He said Thirumavalavan bycalling RSS as a terrorist organization is spreading communal and caste hatred and causing social tension by spreading false information.
Journalist Praveen said “Let him first study Abrahamic religions to find status of women, restrictions on them and threats them as sexual objects before commenting on Manusmirthi based on the translated version of the British philologist Sir William Jones in 1794. Englishmen who did not have sound knowledge of Sanskrit. This is absurd. He can be booked for hatred speech. Manusmirthi was nowhere followed in the country. There are eight to nine manusmirthis which are area specific. People who made ruckus over Nupur Sharma’s comments are now silent. TN police also have shown their biased nature. Hindu outfits have filed a dozen of complaints against Thirumavalavan and others. They are still on FIR stage not probe has been done and arrests are made. But in the case of Hindu leaders, police promptly arrest them even before the ink on the complaint dries. Such things go on forever !
