Generally, DMK., people play vote bank politics by mocking one side and speaking highly of the other. But Ponmudi has earned the displeasure of the entire Hindu people by speaking disparagingly of the two major sects of Hinduism.
As the condemnation of Ponmudi’s speech is increasing, DMK President M.K. Stalin has issued announcement stripping him of his party post. In this situation, various parties are saying that he should be removed from the ministerial post as well. Ponmudi, who is the Forest Minister in the current DMK government, has already been embroiled in various controversies and defamatory speeches! He had made fun of his ‘Oshi Oshi’, about free travel for women in buses. He showed obscene gestures in the assembly itself, calling the Governor “Poda”.
While Ponmudi is facing a series of problems, including a wealth accumulation case, a foreign exchange fraud case, and enforcement department raids, it was said that DMK government Chief Minister Stalin did not show any initiative to protect Ponmudi as compared with Senthil balaji, another minister in his cabinet.
In this situation, a video of him speaking about women and insulting Saivism and Vaishnavism at an event held in Villupuram last Sunday went viral on the internet, and action has been taken against him. As Minister Ponmudi’s obscene speech has caused great anger among women, DMK MP Kanimozhi, the daughter of M. Karunanidhi and sister of Chief Minister Stalin, who is being projected as the female face of the DMK, posted a comment on the social media condemning it.
In this situation, the DMK leadership has issued an order to strip Ponmudi of his party post (Deputy General Secretary). This position has been given to the party’s Rajya Sabha member Trichy Siva.
Ponmudi is being removed from the party post and continues as a minister. So does Stalin think that talk is right enough to continue as a minister?
Now, Bjp party president K. Annamalai condemn this action and demand his removal from the cabinet. In a statement he said, “This is DMK’s standard of political discourse in Tamil Nadu. Thiru Ponmudi was once the Higher Education Minister of Tamil Nadu & now Minister for Forests and Khadi, and the youth of Tamil Nadu are expected to tolerate this filth? Not just this Minister, the entire DMK ecosystem is vulgar, foul-mouthed, and uncouth. Hang your head in shame, Thiru MK Stalin, for leading such a disgraceful pack.
