கலாம்ஜியின் கவிதை குறித்து ஒரு பதிவில் குறிப்பிட்டிருந்தேன். அதன் ஆங்கில மூலத்தைப் படிக்க பலரும் ஆர்வமாயிருந்தது தெரியவந்தது. நண்பர்கள் சிலர் உள்டப்பியில் விசாரித்தனர். அடியேனும் மிகவும் சிரமப்பட்டு, கூகுள் குரு உதவியுடன் தேடி, ஒருவழியாக கண்டுபிடித்துவிட்டேன்.
அந்த மூலக் கவிதையுடன் கலாம்ஜி குறிப்பிட்டுள்ள சிறு அனுபவக் கட்டுரை இன்னும் பிரமாதம். படித்துப் பாருங்கள்.

Friends, when I see the poet community, let me share with you, a beautiful story of hundred year old tree in my home 10, Rajaji Marg. The name of the tree is Arjun, while botanically this is called – Terminalia. The tree is my biodiversity friend. I daily walk about one and half hours, early morning and night in my home. My tree friend, everyday reveals something new whenever I walk. You can ask me, one single tree of 100 years old, can it become living post for biodiversity. I say firmly yes. The age of the tree and my parents are almost the same. My father lived 103 years and my mother 90+. My tall friend Arjuna with its 100s of branches every April to my sadness loses all his leaves and becomes barren. Then to my joy within a month again the tree blossoms with more vigour and fresh green leaves and colorful flowers which make it look even mightier. There are hundreds of branches in the tree. There is one branch difficult to locate, as it is in the dense interior region of the tree. On that branch I saw a unique sight – thousands and thousands of working honey bees have built a hive of big size. Many parts of Arjuna the tree, have become the habitat for mynas, sparrows, black crows, cuckoos and top most branches occupied by beautiful parrots. Occasionally hornbill visits and then all join together drive away this unique species. Everyday, one scene I observe is, how all birds join together against one enemy that is eagle troop, to protect their young ones.
My tree gives in all seasons beautiful shadows to living beings. Sometimes, I observe a scene at the root and base region of the tree densely full of plants and flower garden. I have seen many times peacocks dancing in number around the tree. Then the peahen select inside the bush around the tree, a place for laying seven to ten eggs and they protect in continuation for 45 days sitting softly over the egg and giving warmth and protection. Then the seven nestlings the baby birds start roaming all around the tree for protecting their mother. This life cycle we see every year.
Now friends don?t you think, I have a great tree, it is my friend and my biodiversity friend and also friend of young. I composed a poem dedicated to Arjun, My Home Tree. I asked my tree what is your mission? You may like to hear the great answer my home tree gave me.

The great tree in my home
Oh my home tree*,
You are great, among trees,
How many, many generations were enriched
Through decades of your help, so kind,
Many now live under your sagely care,
Your song of life, I love to hear.
Oh my friend Kalam,
I crossed age hundred like your father and mother.
Everyday morning, you walk an hour
I also see you on full moon nights,
Walking with a thinking mood.
I know my friend, the thoughts in your mind,
“What can I give”.
When in April, you look at me,
Again and again with deep concern,
Seeing me shedding leaves in thousands and thousands,
You ask me my friend,
What is my burden?
Leaves I shed to give birth to new leaves,
Flowers bloom attracting butterflies and bees.
So, Kalam, it is not burden for me,
It is a beautiful phase of my life.
Now Kalam, take a tour with me,
See closely inside, in my dense branches,
A large beehive full of honey,
Built by thousands of worker bees,
Honey collected by their ceaseless work.
Honey-hive so heavy, with sweet honey drops,
Guarded well by thousands of bees.
For whom, this honey is collected and guarded,
It is for you many rich and poor,
Our mission is to give to every life.
Oh Kalam, did you see so many nests,
Built by various birds in various parts of my branches.
Most of the top branches of my tree attract,
Hundreds of parrots as their home.
You have rightly called me parrots? tree.
Nowadays, you call me also honey tree,
When I hear talking to your grandson about me,
I smile and smile.
I give many homes to birds in my branches and trunk holes.
I have heard songs of birds, and seen, love, birth and growth.
The birds are flying and flying around me sharing happiness.
Nowadays, Kalam daily during your walk,
You come close to me to see my root,
All-around dense flower garden with a velvet grass bed.
To a peahen,
The peahen giving warmth to the eggs.
All the time giving safe breeding with motherly love.
It was beautiful sight in your home.
The peahen with its seven kids,
Majestically walking now all around me,
And guarding the children day and night.
Now, you question Kalam, what is my mission?
Mission of hundred years of my life.
My mission, I enjoy giving what all I have,
I share, flower and honey, give abode, for hundred of birds.
I give and give.
So, I remain, young and happy, always.
Indian name of the tree – Arjun botanical name – Terminalia.

Citizens of our country can take a great lesson of GIVING and inspired by the “Mission of Giving” by trees. For this, we have to fight against greed of “What can I take?” and replace that greed with the spirit of “What Can I Give”? If we as a society inculcate the spirit of “What Can I Give”, it would enhance our strength, arrest moral degradation and ensure that the society is compassionate, eco-friendly, and be caring towards others. Such an attitude will definitely make every citizen of the nation happier and enable him or her to lead a happy life.

எல்லா மரங்களிலும் நீ தான் பெருமைக்குரியவன்!
எத்தனை தலைமுறைகளை நீ வளப்படுத்தி இருக்கின்றாய்?!
வருடங்கள் பலப்பலவாய் பாசமுடன் பயன் தருகின்றாய்

முழு நிலாப் பொழுதுகளிலும்
நான் உன்னைக் காண்கிறேன்
சிந்தனையில் ஆழ்ந்தபடி நடக்கின்றாய்…
என் நண்பனே… உன் மன ஓட்டத்தை நான் உணர்வேன்…
“நான் என்ன கொடுக்க இயலும்”
ஏப்ரல் மாதப் பொழுதில்,
என்னை நீ ஏறிட்டுப் பார்த்தாய்!
மீண்டும் மீண்டும் நீ,
மீளாப் பார்வை பார்த்தாய்!
ஆயிரம் ஆயிரமாய் இலைகள் உதிர்ந்திருக்க,
நீ என்னைக் கண்டாய்!
என் நண்பனே,
என்னிடம் கேட்டாய் நீ…
என் பாரம் எதுவோ!?
இலைகளை நான் கழித்ததும்,
புத்திலைகள் பிறப்பெடுக்கின்றன!
மலர்களின் மலர்ச்சி,
வண்ணத்துப் பூச்சிகளையும் வண்டுகளையும் கவர்கின்றது.
எனவே, கலாம்… இது எனக்குப் பாரம் அன்று!
இது என் வாழ்வின் அழகான ஒரு கட்டம்!

இப்போது நீ என்னைச் சுற்றி வா!
அடர்ந்து செழித்த என் கிளைகளின் வழியே புகுந்து, அகத்தில் ஆழ்ந்து பார்.
தேன் நிரம்பித் ததும்பும் ஒரு தேனடையைக் காண்பாய்.
ஆயிரமாயிரம் வேலைக்காரத் தேனீக்களின் அயராத உழைப்பால் விளைந்தது…
அந்தத் தேனடை!
அவற்றின் ஓயாத உழைப்பால் சொட்டுச் சொட்டாகச் சேர்ந்தது… அங்கே தேன்!
தித்திக்கும் தேன் துளிகள் நிரம்பிய தேனடையின் பாரம் அபாரமானதுதான்!
ஆயிரமாயிரம் தேனீக்களின் காவலால் காக்கப்படுகிறது…
யாருக்காக இந்தத் தேன் சேகரிக்கப்பட்டது? பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டது?
அது உமக்காக,
எத்தனையோ ஏழையருக்கு…
சீமான்களுக்கு!
எல்லா உயிர்க்கும் பகிரப்பட வேண்டும் என்பதுதானே நம் நோக்கம்!
கலாம்!
நீ பார்த்திருக்கிறாயா?
என் கிளைகளின் பல பாகங்களில் பல பறவைகள்
எத்தனை எத்தனை கூடுகளைக் கட்டியிருக்கின்றன..?
என் பெரும்பாலான நுனிக் கிளைகள்
எத்தனை வசீகரமாயிருக்கும்?
நூற்றுக்கணக்கான கிளிகள்
அதனைத் தம் வீடுகளாக்கியிருக்கின்றனவே!
எனவே, என்னை நீ கிளிமரம் என்று அழைப்பாய்.
இப்போதும் என்னை நீ தேன் மரம் என்பாய்.
என்னைப் பற்றி
உன் பேரனிடம் நீ பேசியதைக் கேட்கும்போது,
நான் முறுவலிப்பேன்..
புன்னகைப்பேன்.
என் மரப்பொந்துகளிலும் கிளைகளிலும்
பறவைகளின் வீடுகளுக்கு இடமளித்தேன்
நான் பறவைகளின் கீதத்தை செவிமடுத்திருக்கிறேன்…
அவற்றின் பிறப்பிலும் வளர்ச்சியிலும்
காதலாகிக் கண்டிருக்கிறேன்…
அவை என்னைச் சுற்றிச் சுற்றிச் சிறகடித்துப் பறந்து
மகிழ்ச்சிப் பெருக்கை பரிமாறியிருக்கின்றன.
இப்போதெல்லாம் கலாம்…
உன் நித்திய நடைப்போதுகளில்
என் அருகே வருவாய்.
இன்னும் அருகே வந்து
என் வேர்ப் பற்றை பரிவோடு பார்ப்பாய்.
வெல்வெட் மெத்தையாய் புல்படுக்கை…
சுற்றிலும் அடர்ந்த பூக்காடு!
அங்கே ஓர் அழகுப் பெண்மயில்
அது உள்ளக் களிப்பால் ஈந்த முட்டைக்கு
கதகதப்பைத் தந்தது.
எல்லாப் போதுகளும்…
அங்கே தாய்ப்பாசம் மீதுற அரவணைக்கும்
அழகுக் காட்சி!
உன் வீட்டின் உள்ளிருந்து நோக்கும்
அருமைக் காட்சி!
அந்தப் பெண்மயில் ஏழு குஞ்சுகளுடன் உலவியது
என்னைச் சுற்றிச் சுற்றி கம்பீரமாய் உலா வந்தது…
பகலும் இரவும் தன் குஞ்சுகளைப் பாதுகாத்தபடி!
இப்போது, ஒரு கேள்வி கலாம்…
என் குறிக்கோள்…
எனக்கான கட்டளை,
என் பிறவியின் நோக்கம்…எது?
நூறு வருடங்கள் உயிர்ப்போடு திகழ்வதா?
நான் பெற்றதை வைத்து
ஆனந்தமாகக் கழிக்கிறேன்
என் பிறவிப் பயனை!
நான் பரிமாறினேன்…
பூக்கள் மற்றும் தேனை!
இருப்பிடம் தந்தேன்,
நூற்றுக்கணக்கான பறவைகளுக்கு!
நான் கொடுப்பேன் கொடுப்பேன்
இன்னும் கொடுப்பேன்…
எனவே, நான் இருப்பேன்…
இன்றும் இளமையாக!
என்றும் இன்பமாக!
